Simi Valley High School's First Maker Room

To whom it may concern:

We are proud to offer you the wonderful opportunity to sponsor Simi Valley High School’s Maker Room to be opening very soon.

The maker movement in education is built upon the foundation of constructionism, which is the philosophy of hands-on learning through building things.  In the Maker Room, students will have the opportunity to work on projects using inquiry and reflection with teachers serving merely as guides.

The room will feature learning opportunities in 3D Printing, Robotics, Circuitry, Graphic and Interior Design, Engineering, and many other projects that will be featured on a monthly basis.  This is where you come in.

Currently, we are in need of materials and/or monetary donations to fund future projects.  The materials fall under the categories of tools and equipment, furniture, and financial contributions.

The Maker Room is in need of the following tools (used or new):

The Maker Room is in need of the following furniture: a small coffee table, small end tables, microwave, area rugs, a mini-fridge, work lights for tables, a Keurig coffee maker.

The Maker Room could always use financial support to fund future projects including T-Shirt screen printing, UnderSea Unmanned Vehicles, 3D printing, and much more.

Join us by sponsoring this great event for our students.  (Interested parties may contact Jeff Jackson at jeffery.jackson@simivalleyusd.org.  You can also follow our experiences at svhsfactory.com.
